I found this recipe a few weeks ago for lip butter that is amazing!!! Just the thought of coconut, honey and cocoa butter got me, no matter what it was made into. 🙂

The recipe originally called for shea butter and I will post that but I don’t care for it so I used extra cocoa butter -yum! This was my first attempt at making a lib butter or lip balm and even though I did fill little 1/4 oz. jars, I also tried to fill a few lip balm containers. Thinking now, that may not have been such a good idea because it is a soft balm. Maybe the addition of extra beeswax would fix that prob.

Here it is, feel free to share!

Honey Coco Coco Lip Butter – like the cute name I call it?
2 tablespoons extra-virgin unrefined coconut oil
3 tablespoons almond oil
3 tablespoons cocoa butter
1 tablespoon beeswax
1 tablespoons refined(unrefined strong odor) shea butter
1 teaspoon raw honey

You can order your ingredients from
Mountain Rose Herbs. A herbs, health and harmony c

or from

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan, and warm over low heat until the solids are just melted.

Remove from heat and allow to cool 5 minutes, stirring a few times to blend. Over the next 5-10 minutes, as the mixture continues to cool and begins to thicken a bit, vigorously stir for 10 seconds every minute. This continues to incorporate the water-based honey.
IF it starts to get too thick before you are pouring into your containers, reheat for a moment or two. Pour into your containers! This makes 4 ounces so lots of lip butter.

Use for your lips to keep them soft and healthy and for stretch marks before, during and after pregnancy.
I am going to see what else I can make!
Have a happy day today and do something fun!
